It was with great sadness that LAG learned of the death of Nony Ardill in April. Nony was LAG’s policy director between 2000 and 2005, before moving on to jobs at Age Concern England (as it then was), the Equality and Human Rights Commission and, most recently, as legal specialist for the House of Commons Justice Committee. Two current LAG staff members, Esther Pilger and Louise Heath, have been around long enough to remember working with Nony, who was committed, lovely and wise. She worked on many projects for LAG, including a joint campaign for public legal education with the Access to Justice Alliance and a seminar series and book examining the tension between victims’ and defendants’ rights. Our thoughts are with her family and friends.
