Lord Justice Laws described it as a "pretty tall order" to release the judgement by the end of the month, in the judicial review of the government's controversial plans to tender for criminal legal aid duty work. After a three day hearing, which came to an end on Monday (19th January), Lord Justice Laws sitting with Mr Justice Cranston asked for replies and written submissions from counsel by Friday this week   The tender process has been suspended pending the result of the judicial review proceeding which were brought by the Criminal Law Solicitor's Association and the London Criminal Courts Solicitors Associations. The Law Society brought a separate case which was joined to these proceedings.
