The April 2024 Police Station Webinar will focus on the challenges faced by autistic and neuro-divergent suspects at the police station
Event details:
The April 2024 Police Station Webinar will focus on the challenges faced by autistic and neuro-divergent suspects at the police station, and for the lawyers and representatives who advise them. For this webinar, we will be joined by Tom Smith, Associate Professor at the University of the West of England. Tom's article in the Criminal Law Review in January identified some of the key issues faced by neuro-divergent suspect and defendants, and the book he edited, Autism and Criminal Justice, was published by Routledge in 2023. As always, delegates will have the opportunity to raise questions and share experiences. We hope you can join us.
Why we are charging for this event:
'We have not previously charged for the Police Station webinars, mindful of the gross underfunding of the legal aid profession. However, for this and future webinars there will be a small fee to help sustain LAG - who are an excellent resource - but are also struggling too. I have had the great benefit of being a subscriber to Legal Action and a member of the Legal Action Group for over forty years, and never have the financial challenges been so great. All of the money raised will go to keep LAG going.'
Ed Cape, Patron of LAG.
By purchasing a ticket for this webinar, you will also receive a copy of the recording of the event and the notes.
