The Homelessness Reduction Bill has now entered the committee stage in the parliamentary process (see November 2016 Legal Action 4). The commons committee scrutinising the bill met for the first time on 23 November. At that sitting, Bob Blackman, the Conservative MP who proposed the private members’ bill, said the committee was clear that it wanted ‘to proceed on an all-party basis’ in its consideration of any amendments to the proposed legislation.
